1.1 This document outlines the Terms and Conditions for scholarships administered by Pay It Forward Scholarships Limited (ABN 69 631 117 229) (“Pay It Forward Scholarships”). These scholarships are listed at and allow you to attend a face-to-face, virtual or distance education course at no cost to you. Scholarships are provided by the issuing school listed in the details for each scholarship (“the issuing school”).

1.2 You must read and accept these Terms and Conditions in their entirety before you submit your scholarship application and/or accept your scholarship offer. You also agree to accept any other requirements and conditions listed on the website of the issuing school, and/or outlined in your scholarship offer or subsequent scholarship agreement.


2.1 To apply for a scholarship, you must satisfy the following prerequisites:

A. You must be disadvantaged and/or down-on-your-luck and be unable to pay for the desired course yourself. Examples include having suffered a misfortune such as an accident or disaster, or being in receipt of government welfare such as unemployment benefit or disability payments.

B. You must be an Australian citizen and at least 18 years of age.

C. You must have a plan for how you intend to improve your life that requires vocational training or retraining.

D. You must possess the drive and motivation to complete a course of study by providing witnessed examples of your drive and motivation.

E. You must possess the necessary language, literacy, and numeracy ability to complete a course of study.

F. You must agree:
i. to complete the course of study if your application is successful.
ii. to ‘pay it forward’ after the completion of your studies, by helping three other people in a significant manner of your choice. You must also ask each of them to pay it forward three times, and provide us with details of how this was ‘paid forward’.
iii. to provide us with details of how the course has made an improvement to your life.
iv. To abide by these terms and conditions.


3.1 After submitting your scholarship application, an acknowledgement and copy of your application will be emailed to you. In your application you must nominate a referee who can verify your personal details and circumstances, and who is willing to recommend you for the scholarship. An email will be sent to your referee that includes a copy of your application. If your referee attests to the facts presented in your application and recommends you for the scholarship, your application will be forwarded to the issuing school for their assessment. If your referee fails to respond within seven days of being emailed, your scholarship will be rejected, and you will receive notification of this via email.

3.2 The issuing school will then review your application and inform you whether it is successful or otherwise within 30 days.


4.1 If you are offered a scholarship, you will receive a scholarship offer containing the details of the scholarship. You will be advised how to accept or reject your scholarship in your scholarship offer. If you do not complete the acceptance as instructed, your scholarship offer may be withdrawn and/or reallocated.

4.2 The award of a scholarship is entirely the decision of the issuing school, their decision is final, and you agree to not contest any such decision.

4.3 You warrant that all details that you provide in your scholarship application are true and correct.

4.4 Successful scholarship applicants may be subject to further terms and conditions (such as student guides and student policies) which will be provided by the issuing school.

4.5 If you do not wish to accept a scholarship that you have been offered, you should immediately advise the issuing school in writing.

4.6 If you are offered a different scholarship to the one initially applied for, this will be considered instead of, rather than in addition to, the original scholarship. Only one scholarship is available per applicant. You are not permitted to hold concurrent scholarships offered through Pay It Forward Scholarships.


5.1 Your privacy is respected, and your personal information collected by us is protected by the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988. Your data will be used to enable us to provide you with the services you have requested, to inform you of other services you may be interested in, to assist with research and development of our product lines, and to maintain and develop our business systems and infrastructure.

5.2 Your personal details provided on your scholarship application will be shared with your personal referee (who you nominate in your scholarship application) and with the school or organisation providing the scholarship.

5.3 You agree that your name and photograph may be used by Pay It Forward Scholarships and the issuing school for publicity purposes.

5.4 We may use third party advertising tools (including Google marketing and similar advertising). This means that information related to your web browsing behaviour may be collected while visiting our site, which later can be used by third-party vendors, including Google, for the purpose of showing our advertising on sites across the Internet which have been approved in the display network. You have the option to opt out of Google’s use of cookies by visiting the Google advertising opt-out page. Alternatively you can opt out of cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt out page.

5.5 Google Adwords Conversion Tracking: We may utilise Google Adwords Conversion tracking to help us collect general usage statistics on how many site visitors have clicked on our Google ads and made an enquiry with us. This may be tracked using cookies which do not contain any personal identifiable information and expire within 30 days. For more information or to opt out of this service, please refer to Google Advertising Policies and Principles.

5.6 Facebook advertising: We utilise the Facebook lead ad platform where individuals are able to provide their personal details (such as email and phone number) if they are interested in one of our services. By providing your details via this platform you are accepting our terms and conditions, and also provide us with consent to send you promotional materials relevant to your enquiry. You can unsubscribe from promotional emails at anytime.


6.1 All scholarships are awarded on the basis that you will maintain an enrolled status at the issuing school. Your scholarship may be terminated if your enrolment status changes, such as if you discontinue your school studies, transfer to another school, or move to a different geographical area from where your scholarship was originally awarded.

6.2 To retain your scholarship, you must:

  • maintain your attendance and academic performance, and immediately notify the issuing school of any extenuating circumstances that may prevent you doing so,
  • adhere to the academic and administrative policies of the issuing school at which you are enrolled,
  • meet any additional criteria outlined in your letter of offer, and
  • provide confirmation of your circumstances during the term of the scholarship if requested by Pay It Forward Scholarships or the issuing school.

6.3 Pay It Forward Scholarships or the issuing school may terminate your scholarship if you have:

  • discontinued your approved course of study or have inactive enrolment,
  • failed to meet the eligibility requirements of your scholarship,
  • failed to meet the scholarships terms and conditions,
  • failed to maintain satisfactory academic progress,
  • been suspended or excluded from the issuing school or your course of study,
  • moved to a different geographical jurisdiction from where your scholarship was originally awarded,
  • been suspended or excluded for misconduct under the issuing school’s statutes and regulations,
  • been made an incorrect scholarship offer as determined by Pay It Forward Scholarships or the issuing school at its sole discretion, and/or
  • have provided incorrect, false, or misleading information, or have withheld relevant information on your scholarship application or after receiving a scholarship offer.


7.1 Requests for deferment of scholarship will be determined on an individual basis and at the complete discretion of the issuing school.


8.1 Pay It Forward Scholarships and the issuing school cannot provide you with advice on taxation or Centrelink matters. The information provided here is of a general nature only and does not consider your individual circumstances.

8.2 Pay It Forward Scholarships and the issuing school are not liable for the payment of any tax or any other obligations you may incur as a result of accepting a scholarship. You must seek appropriate financial advice prior to accepting a scholarship.


9.1 If you are provided with technical equipment as part of your scholarship, Pay It Forward Scholarships and the issuing school do not offer any warranty period and accept no liability for any loss or damage of the equipment.


10.1 In accepting a scholarship from Pay It Forward Scholarships and the issuing school, you agree to unequivocally WAIVE, RELEASE, AND DISCHARGE Pay It Forward Scholarships and the issuing school, their officers, associates and partner organisations from any and all liability, including but not limited to any liability arising from the negligence or fault of the entities or persons released, for death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft, or actions of any kind which may occur to you during or after the scholarship period, including during or after any travel undertaken as part of the scholarship.


11.1 All correspondence during the application process will be sent to your email address, residential address or primary email address submitted in the scholarship application form. It is your responsibility to inform Pay It Forward Scholarships and the issuing school of any changes to your contact details.


12.1 The type and availability of Scholarships frequently change and Pay It Forward Scholarships reserves the right to amend the details of any scholarship for any reason and at any time without notice, including amendments to the title, dates, the issuing school, and the number of scholarships available.

12.2 Pay It Forward Scholarships reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions for commencing and continuing scholarship at its convenience without notice.
